An Apple a Day the Ayurveda Way

Autumn is here! And in Ayurveda, that means an increase in Vata dosha. This is the perfect time to start supporting the immune system by balancing vata dosha within yourself.

There are many ways to balance Vata dosha. A grounding yoga practice, pratyahara, hot baths and nasya are several practices to bring balance this season and help boost your immune system.

Most importantly, we want to look at our diet. It is no wonder that as the weather cools we naturally seek hot beverages, soups and stews. Our body KNOWS how to create balance, if only we choose to listen.

Autumn also blesses us with an abundance of apples, hooray! So let’s have that apple a day, the Ayurveda way. Cooked apples are best and beneficial for all dosha types. Enjoy these delightful Ayurvedic Recipes using apples and all the other delicious fruits and vegetables that we harvest during this season.
